Ukrainian railway stations

Railway transport is the leader in transporting large numbers of passengers within the country and abroad. Despite the skeptics, that the future is after personal transport of small dimensions, the railroad does not lose its relevance throughout whole history, even more – the railroad is actively developing. So, the first rail transport were trolleys. They appeared in Germany in the XVI century and were developed for taking ore out tunnels via the wooden paths. Metal rails appeared only a century later - the world's first railway factory destination appeared in Petrozavodsk (Russia), in 1788, and the first railroad to schedule passenger traffic was appeared in Wales (England) – the rail station “Swansea and Mumbles” (1807). Until 1825 at the railway stations can be seen only the horses who played the role of locomotives, but soon it began to appear steam-powered trains. Over time, steam traction was replaced with diesel engine trains. Now it is customary for us the electric traction, which received mass distribution only after the Second World War, although it was tested in 1879, in France. Today, the trains are capable of speeds up to 320 km/h, being the fastest public land transport. Moreover, the American designer, creator of the global payments system PayPal and founder of one of the largest companies in the production of electric vehicles Tesla Motors Elon Musk is already offering the tunnel with the capsules, which will move along the stationary route at a speed of up to 1220 km/h! It is particularly important that the passenger ticket will cost about the same price as what citizens pay now to modern railway stations.

If you decide to travel across the country or planning a trip in the near abroad, but you are low on money, the railroad is your choice. Therefore, we offer our visitors a list of the largest railway stations in Ukraine and all necessary information. Let the road will be a joy to you!
