Monument “The Glory to Miner's labour” - Donetsk

Monument «The Glory to Miner's labour» in situated in Kyiv district of Donetsk in the center of Shakhterskaya square. The authors of the monument are sculptor Konstantin Rakityansky and architect Pavel Vigdergauz. The monument is a sculpture of miner in the full growth, who holds the piece of anthracite coal in the right hand. The sculpture is made of cast-iron. The weight of the sculpture is 22 tons. The piece of coal which the miner holds in the hand was made of aluminum; its weight is 90 kg. The sculpture was poured off in the casting workshop of Donetsk regional factory «Remkommunelektrotrans». The molder Boris Gorb, which took part in its creation, sat for a sculpture.
